Welcome to the website of the Care Council, which is the regulator for the social care profession in Wales. This means it has a duty to safeguard the public by promoting and ensuring high standards of conduct and practice among social workers and social care workers. The Care Council also promotes these high standards of practice and professionalism through workforce planning, workforce development, qualifications, knowledge sharing and good practice guides for social care, early years and childcare.
The Care Council holds private and public hearings to consider allegations of misconduct against registered workers who may have failed to meet the high standards of conduct and practice set out in the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers. Here you can search for details of public hearings, if you wish to attend, as well as reading outcomes after they have been held. Find out also about the membership and make-up of the Committees and their role in considering cases referred to them by the Care Council.
Use the Library on the Care Council for Wales website.
The Library lists publications and resources produced by the organisation. The search facility allows you to search by keyword or alphabetically and you can also search within categories which include National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Qualification and Credit Framework.
