Welcome to the Care Council for Wales website

The Care Council promotes high standards for social care workers to improve safeguards for users of social care services.  Our aim is to ensure that the 150,000 children and adults who are receiving social care services at any one time in Wales can rely on a workforce that is properly trained, appropriately qualified and effectively regulated.

Current Activities ...

Social Work Bursary application forms for 2009/10 now available and will be distributed on June 15th. Bursaries are limited therefore first time applicants are encouraged to return completed forms to the Student Funding team promptly.

New online portal for Registrants. Individuals registered on the Register of Social Care Workers can now view their registration details online, make changes to these details and pay their annual fee online. 

Children and Young People’s Workforce Strategy and the Common Core of Skills Knowledge and Understanding for the Children and Young People’s Workforce in Wales. Development work ongoing January 2009
