Accessibility
The Care Council for Wales regulates the social care profession and aims to ensure the social care workforce in Wales is safe to practice; has the right skills and qualifications to work to a high professional standard and is attracting the right amount of people into its ranks to deliver quality care now and in the future.
Our website forms an important part of this work, and we want to ensure it provides information not only to workers and employers in the sector but also to those individuals who depend on social care services. It's therefore important that our web accessibility standards are high.
Through our website, we aim to make access to our work and the standards expected of the social care profession, more easily available to all. The Care Council is therefore committed to making its website fully accessible to all members of society.
The website has been carefully designed - and strict standards have been put in place - to ensure that users with disabilities can access the information contained within it, including users who may be blind or partially sighted.
We have followed the guidelines set down by the W3C (world wide web consortium) to ensure that, for example, the coding of our site supports screen readers (technology that allows the site to be 'read' for the visually impaired or blind).
The Care Council website has a standard text size. You can make the text on this site bigger or smaller or to suit your requirements by clicking on the 'Change text size' options on the top of each page.
The website has also been designed to ensure that all pages are compatible with any personalised settings set up on individual PCs.
Maintaining an accessible site is an ongoing process and we are continually working to offer a user friendly experience. Where the highest standards of accessibility cannot be met the Care Council will aim to provide the information in an accessible format on request. If you need to request information in a different format then please e-mail us at info@ccwales.org.uk or call the communications team on 029 2078 0626.
If you have any recommendations about how the website could be made more accessible, or if you experience any difficulties please contact our website co-ordinator on info@ccwales.org.uk.
