Level 2 Award for Social Care Induction (Wales)
A qualification has been developed to support a common understanding to induction in social care in Wales which is the Level 2 Award in Social Care Induction (Wales) (QCF).
Purpose of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to ensure that there is a consistent approach to social care induction across Wales and that new workers understand the values that underpin all work in social care.
This qualification sets out learning outcomes that new workers joining the social care workforce or undertaking a new role within the social care sector should meet in their first 12 weeks of employment.
Who are the qualifications for?
This qualification is for anybody thinking about a career in social care or those who are new to their role.
This awards offers progression to the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) and the Level 3 Diplomas in Health and Social Care both adults and children and young people. The award can also been used as a passport for the knowledge elements of the Social Care Induction Framework.
The structure of the award is set out in the Qualification Specification. Learners must achieve at least 7 credits to gain the Level 2 Award in Social Care Induction (Wales) (QCF). These are made up of 5 credits from the mandatory units in Group A, and the remaining credits from group B.
