Development and Innovation

The Development and Innovation arm was created in October 2008 following a restructure of the Workforce Development team. Our remit is to work with the sector, service users and carers as well as national and local government agencies to look to the future development of the workforce in the social care, children and young people, and early years sector. .

We are all aware that the social care sector is changing as the nature of our society changes. We are all aware also that we have an ageing population in Wales, and that the care required for this population will continue to grow in the future. We are working with partners and employers to understand the needs of the future workforce in terms of skills and knowledge and also how we as a sector will work in partnership effectively in the future. We will be using this information together with others to ensure that the people working in social care in this field are prepared and fit for that task.
