Care at Home
The Care at Home workforce study, published by the Care Council in 2010, examined the care at home workforce and what was needed to make the workforce fit for the demands of the future. This was followed by a major care at home workforce conference in September 2010.
Drawing on the results of the study and the conference, the Care Council is taking forward a range of work in 2011/12 including:
- Developments to support the workforce working with older people, including older people with dementia
- Development of a governance framework for the health and social care support (generic) worker role
- Actions to more actively support the workforce working with Carers
- Exploring the development needs of managers
- Additional efforts to engage more actively with front line workers
- Actions to support the workforce to deliver outcome focused care
- Developing further the vocational qualifications for the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) or CQFW
