Early Years and Childcare Workforce Development Network
The Care Council for Wales established an Early Years and Childcare network in 2005 – 2006 at the request of the Welsh Assembly Government, called the Welsh Government since May 2011. The Early Years and Childcare Workforce Network is the mechanism for driving forward the Welsh Government's vision of a competent, confident and well qualified workforce. The aim of the Network is to provide a forum for the Early Years and Childcare (0-8 years) sector to discuss issues of strategic importance on all aspects of workforce related issues that include recruitment, retention, training and qualification development in Wales.
During 2008/10, the Network amongst other things is focusing on a range of tasks including an Early years and Childcare Induction framework, producing an Early Years and Childcare qualification list and producing an updated ’choosing well’ .
