The Review of the Rules and Requirements for the Degree in Social Work in Wales

The Care Council is undertaking a consultation on revised arrangements for the professional regulation of social work qualifying education and training.

The consultation comes following a review of the current arrangements contained in Raising Standards - The Qualification Framework for the Degree in Social Work in Wales. The review was overseen by a steering group of those representing employers, Higher Education, students, voluntary organisations, service users, the Welsh Assembly Government, and the professional organisations (British Association of Social Workers and the Wales Organisation of Practice Teaching). It aimed to ensure the arrangements for the Social Work Degree are the right ones and that the standards for social work students’ learning and assessment are clear.

As a result of the review the Care Council is proposing some changes to the arrangements which are now subject to public consultation. See our consultations page for more information.
