The Review of Qualifications for 14-19 year olds in Wales - Welsh Government consultation Back

This important consultation forms part of a major Welsh Government review of qualifications across Wales spanning 31st May to 1st September 2012. It seeks to ensure that the qualifications young people achieve do two things:

  1. Are valued by young people; who are stimulated and engaged and provided with options for progression to more education or employment;
  2. Have relevance to employers and the economy and offer skills, knowledge and understanding needed and valued by employers.

It raises important issues around vocational qualifications and their relevance and value.

Care Council for Wales would like your help in making sure that the voice of the sector around the main question raised by the report is heard and well represented. It is the opportunity to make sure that new qualifications emerging or being developed for the sector are leading the way within this new qualifications environment.  Please come to our events in August to inform our formal response to the consultation and make sure the needs of the care and early years sector are included based on your evidence and experience.
