UK Dementia Congress 2012 Back

Location: Brighton Hilton Metropole
Organiser: Journal of Dementia Care / Hawker Publications

The UK Dementia Congress is the largest annual multidisciplinary dementia-focused event and exhibition in the UK.

Health and social care continue to experience major change, and a sense of uncertainty about the future is a given for many professionals in the dementia care field. And yet, examples of good practice can be found all over the UK, some based on tried and tested ideas, others breaking new ground. The Congress event is the opportunity for professionals to make connections with others, to be inspired by others, and to build bridges towards best practice in their own localities.

Keynote speakers include

  • Dr G Allen Power, Eden Mentor at St John’s Home in Rochester, New York, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester and author of Dementia beyond Drugs: Changing the Culture of Care.
  • Professor Bob Woods, Professor of Clinical Psychology of Older People, University of Bangor, Wales will give the Tom Kitwood Memorial Address.
