– 8 February 2010
Location: Barnardo's Cymru Offices, Trident Court, Cardiff
Organiser: Barnardo's Cymru
Barnardo's Cymru is hosting a training event on safeguarding sexually exploited children and young people.
This event aims to:
-
describe and explain the process of child sexual exploitation;
-
explore attitudes and beliefs around prostitution and child sexual exploitation;
-
enable practitioners to identify children/young people at risk of CSE using 'vulnerabilities' identified through best practice and research;
-
enable practitioners to assess children/young people at risk using the Seraf Risk Assessment tool and apply a category of risk and related intervention to each child;
-
use local and national government guidance and legislation relevant to CSE to inform future work with young people.
The event is aimed at all those working with children and young people, such as those in Youth and Community work, the Voluntary Sector, Sexual Health, Criminal Justice, Education/Training, Social Care and Health, Substance Misuse and Housing.
The events costs £75 per person (incl. VAT) with lunch provided.
