Care Council for Wales at the National Eisteddfod 2010
27 July 2010

The Care Council for Wales will again have a presence at the National Eisteddfod in Blaenau Gwent and the Heads of the Valleys between 31 July and 7 August.

Monday 2 August - discussion panel:

Do you visit your doctor, hospital or receive social care services? Would you like to receive this service through the medium of Welsh?

If so, you might be interested in attending a discussion about the importance of language awareness in health and social care services - 'Bilingual Health and Social Care Services: What next?'

Held between 11am and 12 noon in the Societies Tent (Pabell y Cymdeithasau) 2, the Care Council and the NHS Language Unit will be staging the event which will be chaired by presenter and journalist, Beti George.

The session will include presentations, readings, video clips and accounts of personal experiences from individuals as well as a discussion among a panel of experts to consider the current situation of the Welsh language in health and social care and to consider what needs to develop for the future. (Simultaneous translation facilities will be available.)

Contact James Lewis on 029 2078 0696 / james.lewis@ccwales.org.uk if you're interested in attending.

Treasure hunt, with a social care theme, involving many of our educational partners, who are also exhibiting on the Eisteddfod field.
