Social Care Accolades
Category: Language Choice and Dignity in Care
Winner: Ceredigion County Council
Project: Iaith ar Waith
Ceredigion County Council wanted to help its staff work more effectively in the Welsh language in their day-to-day dealings with the public.
Their challenge was, through practical support and improved administration, to help their team use Welsh more often, more confidently and with more proficiency.
Three departments of the local authority, including the Social Services Contact Centre engaged in the scheme and as a result huge advances have been made in the use of Welsh at the council.
