Tell us what you think Social Care Wales should be like Back

The Care Council is now less than 12 months away from changing into Social Care Wales and we would like to know what people think the new organisation should be like.

To help shape the brand for the new organisation – what it stands for - those working in social care and receiving services are being invited to complete a questionnaire on the Care Council website.

Established under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Bill, which was recently passed by the National Assembly, Social Care Wales will be the first body to bring together the responsibilities for regulating the workforce, developing the skills of practitioners and improving the services they provide in one place. It will use its powers of regulation positively, using what it learns from its work, as well as findings from research, to bring about better outcomes for people receiving services.

Social Care Wales will build on the success of the Care Council and will be the organisation that takes forward many of the changes set out by the Welsh Government in its Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act. It will work closely with a wide range of organisations from the public, voluntary and private sectors and take on board the views of people receiving services in Wales, as well as those family and friends who care for them. It will place the well-being of people receiving care and support at the heart of its work.

Anyone with a link to social care is invited to complete a questionnaire, which seeks views on which characteristics will be important for the new organisation.
