Some groups of social care workers must register to practice, these are:
- Residential Child Care Managers
- Residential Child Care Workers
- Adult Care Home Managers
As of 1st October 2012, it will become mandatory for the following group to register:
- Domiciliary Care Managers
The following groups of social care workers can register on a voluntary basis:
- Adult Residential Child Care Workers
- Domiciliary Care Workers
You will find information about who can register and what it will mean as well as information about how to apply to register and fees.
Central to all our work are the Codes of Practice for Social Care Workers and Employers, and all workers, whether they're registered or not, should aim to work to these standards of practice. You will find information about Confidence in Care, our campaign to raise awareness of the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers, and copies of the Codes as well as promotional materials and information about the campaign.
The latest edition of the With Care e-bulletin for social care workers is now available.
