Leadership and Management for Care Services
The Leadership and Management for Care Services Award NVQ Level 4 replaced the Registered Managers Award and the Residential Childcare Care Manager Award in August 2008. The Registered Managers Award and the Residential Child Care Manager Award are ‘predecessor’ awards on the Table of Qualification and are recognised within the Care Council’s Qualification Framework.
This award is appropriate for managers working in a variety of settings, including community based settings, domiciliary care settings and residential settings.
The Leadership and Management for Care Award NVQ Level 4 will only be considered a replacement for the Residential Child Care Manager Award if it includes units B6 and B7. These were identified through the consultation in Wales as being required for the purposes of Registering as a Residential Child Care Manager. Therefore the Leadership and Management for Care Services Award (where it includes Units B6 & B7) is the all inclusive qualification acceptable for registration as a Residential Child Care Manager in Wales.
