Mapping pathways through QCF qualifications
Feedback packs for mapping of pathways through QCF qualifications
As part of the vocational qualification reform programme, new qualifications were developed to replace vocational provision in January 2011. This has resulted in new credit based qualifications that cover an increased number of specialist areas such as dementia care, learning disability, sensory loss, physical disability etc.
Launch events were held for the new QCF qualifications between September 2010 and January 2011, throughout these, there were consistent requests from the sector to develop some sort of mapping tool that will help them navigate the new qualifications and ensure that learners are selecting the most appropriate units for their roles.
The Care Council has completed preliminary mapping of a range of service areas and would like to gain sector feedback via focus groups and feedback packs. A number of focus groups are being facilitated by the Care Council across Wales, you may however wish to facilitate your own focus group or feedback individually as a means of feeding in to this piece of work.
Should you wish to facilitate a group or provide individual feedback for one of the following areas please contact Llian Morris at llian.morris@ccwales.org.uk. Feedback will need to be received by the 13 October.
