QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services
(Children and Young People's Residential Management) Wales
The QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) Wales is the replacement qualification for Health and Social Care (children and young people) level 4.
The Diploma is for use in Wales and learners will be able to register from January 2011.
It will confer occupational competence for residential child care Managers.
Diploma Structure
Learners must achieve a minimum of 90 credits for this qualification. 64 credits are from group A, a minimum of 12 credits from group B and the remaining 14 from groups B or C.

Is Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) Wales for me?
The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) Wales is for Managers, Deputy Managers and Assistant Managers who work with children and young people in residential settings.
NB:
Managers who are working in children and young people’s non-residential care should undertake the QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Management) Wales which has been developed specifically for them.
Learners who have completed the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young Peoples’ Advanced Practice) Wales and Northern Ireland will only need to complete a number of ‘top up’ units to achieve this qualification.
