QCF Level 1 Certificate Introduction to Health and Social Care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare (Wales and Northern Ireland)
Overview
The level 1 certificate in Introduction to Health and Social Care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare aims to give learners a broad introduction to the scope of the sectors, career opportunities, an understanding of essential principles and values, working safely and knowledge of a range of areas to include early years and child care, disability, human growth and development and the importance of healthy eating.
The certificate is for use in Wales and Northern Ireland and learners will be able to register from January 2011.
The qualification will not confer occupational competence but provides progress to
Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (adults)
or
Level 2 Dipoma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
Is the Level 1 certificate for me?
The level 1 certificate is an introduction for those who may be interested in working in the sectors. It is anticipated that it will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding that will prepare them for work in the sectors.
