Predecessor Qualifications

Managers

Either

NVQ 4 Leadership & Management for Care Services (LMCS) (Must include units B6 and B7)

Or

Registered Managers Award (Residential Child Care)

Or a combination of one of the following care qualifications together with one of the management qualifications

NVQ 4 Health and Social Care (Children and Young People’s Pathway)

NVQ 4 Care

A Social Work Qualification (Social Work Degree, DipSW, CSS, CQSW)

And

• NVQ 4 Leadership and Management for Care Services (if units B6 and B7 not included)
• NVQ 4 Management (assessed in a care setting)
• NVQ 5 in Management
• MBA
• Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma or Master’s in Management
• Certificate in Management Studies
• Diploma in Management Studies
• City & Guilds 3250-03 Advanced Management in Care
• Diploma in Management of Care Services

Or a combination of one of the following child care qualifications together with one of the management qualifications also noted below

• Certificate in Residential Care of Children and Young People
• Senior Certificate in Residential Care of Children and Young People
• Certificate in Residential Social work
• Declaration of Recognition of experience in Residential Child Care Work

Plus one of the following management qualifications:

NVQ 4 Leadership and Management for Care Services (if units B6 and B7 not included)

NVQ 4 Management (assessed in a care setting)

Deputy/Assistant Manager

NVQ 3 Caring for Children and Young People

DipSW, CSS, CQSW

CTMHP, SCRCCYP, CCYP, DRERCCW, DTMHA, CRSW

Care Officer/Worker

NVQ 3 Caring for Children and Young People

SCRCCYP, CRCCYP, DRERCCW, ICSC , PCSC, CRSW

DipSW, CSS, CQSW, SCRCCYP, CRCCYP, DRERCCW
