Level 2 - Diploma in Children's Care Learning and Development

The Level 2 Diploma in Children’s Care Learning and Development (CCLD) (Wales and Northern Ireland) confers occupational competenceto work within specified early years and childcare roles including assistant nursery practitioner or assistant sessional practitioner.

The Level 2 Diploma in CCLD is for practitioners who work or aim to work under supervision in early years and childcare settings.

Diploma Structure

The structure of the diploma is set out in the qualification specification. Learners must achieve a minimum of 39 credits to achieve this qualification.

These are made up of 27 credits from Mandatory Group A and a minimum of 12 credits from Optional Group B.

Learners can complete additional units from the optional group should they so wish.

It will confer occupational competence to work under supervision and can provide progression to the Level 3 Diploma in CCLD.
