These pages provide information for the social care workforce about the Register of Social Care Workers and the investigation and conduct processes.
Here you will find information about registration, how to apply for registration, fees, voluntary removal from the Register and applications to return to the Register. Once you are registered, you can view and amend your registration details online.
Information is also here about our campaign to raise awareness of the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers, 'Confidence in Care'. You can access copies of promotional materials and information about the campaign as well as copies of the Codes in different formats.

January 2012
The registrant and employer portal will be temporarily unavailable from 23rd January 2012. We will notify you here when the improved and extended portal is ready for use. The Register and all other resources will still be available to view on our website throughout this transition period. Thank you for your co-operation and patience during this time.

New report published on raising standards in social care - describes how the Care Council carried out its role of raising standards through its regulatory work in 2010-2011. It provides emerging trends regarding the nature and practice of the social care profession in Wales. The Care Council will monitor these trends with the view to working with others to improve the practice of the social care profession in Wales for the future.

Dates to remember - dates have been changed by the Assembly for registration to become mandatory for adult care home managers (1st June 2011) and domiciliary care services managers (1st October 2012).
Who regulates Social Care and Health Professionals? - The Social Care and Health Professional Regulators have produced a leaflet that will enable people to identify who regulates a particular social care or health professional and provides contact details of the regulators.
