Resources for employers and HEIs about registration
Social Care employers and organisations in Wales are invited to identify a suitable senior representative(s) to endorse applications to Register and communicate with the Care Council Registration team about the registration and removal of their employees from the Register.
Information about mandatory registration and who can register.
For more detailed information see the Verifying and Endorsing Applications Guidance Notes.
Lead and additional signatories
There is one form for the Lead signatory and another form for any additional signatories that you require. The Lead should sign the form for any additional signatory. Additional Signatories need to be accessible to applicants, have access to their personnel records and be willing to return forms to the Care Council in a timely manner to ensure the Register is up-to-date.
Application forms submitted more than 5 months after they were signed will be considered out of date.
Social care Managers must hold the qualification required for registration on application to register. Social care workers can apply having completed the Social Care Induction Framework.
The Induction Certificate must be submitted with the application form.
Fees and removal from the Register
The initial application fee must be submitted with the application form. If we do not receive the fee with the form it will not be processed. This is the table of registration fees.
Registrants can request voluntary removal from the Register if they are no longer required to be registered.
Registrants who do not pay their annual fee will be referred to Committee for removal unless there are any conduct issues outstanding. Once removed from the Register an individual cannot practice in any role where registration is mandatory.
Registrants are not removed from the Register if there are any conduct issues outstanding. Employers are obliged to inform the Care Council if they know of any reason why the registrant should not be removed. Therefore we notify the Registrant’s employer when we are minded to remove a name from the Register by sending them a form to confirm the removal process can proceed.
