Qualified Social Worker

Individual with a Social Work qualification (qualified inside the UK)

Since the introduction of Protection of Title in April 2005, it is an offence for a person in Wales, with intent to deceive another to:

  • take or use the title social worker; or
  • take or use any title that implies s/he is a registered social worker; or
  • take or use any description that implies s/he is a registered social worker; or
  • in any way hold him/herself out as a registered social worker; unless s/he is registered as such by one of the four Councils.
