Social Work Student

If you are applying to a University in Wales to study for a social work degree you must apply to register with the Care Council for Wales before starting your course.

All students accepting an offer of a place at a University in Wales will be sent a letter inviting them to apply to register by the Care Council for Wales.

Students will apply to register by completing an online form available on our website that must then be printed, signed and posted to us.

Apply online

The online form will include clear instructions on how it should be completed and what you will need to do next. An overview of the whole application process is shown in the Registration Process - Social Work Student document.

Further information about registration and the role of the Care Council is available in the Information Booklet.

Note: Your University will need you to apply for a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. You need to have completed this process before you start your course. Your University will be able to provide you with further advice.
