Useful information pages
Social Workers
As a social worker, you must be registered with the Care Council to practice in Wales and must agree to abide by the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers.
From this section you can find information about who can register, how to apply to register, fees, voluntary removal from the register and applications to renew registration. Also, if you're already registered, you can view and amend your details online, as well as pay your annual fee online. You can also view information about the conduct process and forthcoming conduct hearings.
Central to all our work are the Codes of Practice for Social Care Workers and Employers. From here you will find information about Confidence in Care, our campaign to raise awareness of the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers, and how to order copies of the Codes as well as promotional materials and information about the campaign.
As well as maintaining the Register, the Care Council is developing qualifications appropriate for the social work role, and from this section you'll find information about qualifications and careers. The Care Council is also considering the future needs of the population in Wales and how this will affect social work as a profession.
We hope you can find what you want. Try using the buttons on the left to find information which is particularly relevant to you.
The latest edition of the With Care e-bulletin for social workers is now available.
